Regulations of the Principal Society of Chinese Lerchants resident

in Hongkong.

Chapter 1: Name of the Society.

Regulation 1. The Society is instituted by the union of the various merchants in accordance with the petrocions regulations made by the Baard of Industry and Commerce and application will be made to the Board for registration. The name of the Society to be "The Principal Society of Chinese Merchants resident in Hongkong" •

Chapter 2: Object.

Remulation 2. The Society is instituted by the union of the various

merchants under the different Guilds and of the various Societies and has

for its object the enlightenment of the merchants and the promotion of

commerce.

Chapter 3: Address.

Regulation 3. The premises of the "Four Districts Principal Commercial

and Industrial Society in Hongkong" will be used for the time being as

the address of the Society.

Chapter 4: Members.

Regulation 4. Any person who has the following four qualifications will

be qualified for admission as a member of the Society.

respectable business in Hongkong.

good character.

knowledge of the written language and possession of common

reason.

being a male subject of vae Chinese Republic.

Chapter 5: Officers.

Regulation 5. The Society to appoint a Director, An Assistant Director 2 Secretaries, 2 Treasurers and 2 Investigating Officers none of whom will receive salary, and an adviser in foreign laws and a clerk to be

employed.

Regulation 6. A committee of persons to be appointed in accordance with the regulations from the members of the various Guilds and Societies
